Q. If I only want to receive audio and no television, or don’t even have a television, do I need a TV licence?  
A. Yes.  The Law states that if you have the apparatus or equipment to receive, then you have to have a licence.

Q. I have a new type television which receives Digital signals.  Surely I don’t need your box?    
A. The new Digital system is for terrestrial television, that is to say digital signals transmitted from a transmitter on land.   It has nothing to do with digital signals coming from a satellite.  Sadly, Christian broadcasters are forbidden from transmitting on terrestrial digital because of the laws of our land.   It is therefore only possible to receive Christian programming in full via satellite.

Q. I can get Cable, and don’t want a dish.  Can I get the Christian Channels that way?
A. Sadly, you can’t.   Most Cable providers only supply the God Channel, and it generally costs about £20 a month to have it included in your package, or an additional £5 per month.   You don’t even get God Revival, although some of the UCB radio programmes are sometimes available.   The best thing is to ask your Cable provider what Christian channels they can give, and at what cost.  See our list of stations to know what is available.

Q. I am a real sports enthusiast – what can you do for me?       
A. Christian TV provides Christian channels and free-to-air channels.  Sadly the sporting community do not provide free channels other than Extreme Sports (skate-boarding, motorcycle scrambling etc).  Extreme sports is included in our package.   If you wish for Sky Sports you would need to go to a Sky Satellite provider, and this would incur a monthly fee.

Q. Is it true that I don’t have any monthly payments on your system?   
A. If you choose the outright purchase, we supply you with the box, the dish and the full installation which is guaranteed for one year.  You own the system and receive the free-to-air channels, therefore there is nothing for you to pay after the initial installation.

Q. How can I be sure of good content on the channels?
A. Apart from the Christian channels, you can’t be sure of good content, and also from time to time any channel may change the frequency, which means that where a good channel is being broadcast, you can suddenly find a not-so-good channel.   (It is the satellite companies who dictate the frequencies:  it has nothing to do with the broadcasters or us.)

Q. Who chooses the channels on Christian TV?           
A. Revs. David & Jan Green, as co-founders of Christian TV and pastors, have chosen with advice given by staff of God Digital and other Christian organisations, a number of channels to go on air.   It is true that sometimes these channels can have undesirable content and should be turned off, but there is always the element of freedom of choice.   Other channels which potentially produce bad output all day long have been excluded from our list:  also all Sky subscriber channels are excluded from our offering.

Q. I can’t afford to buy the system outright.  What can you offer me?    
A. Please call our Free phone 0500 618 180 to discuss the matter further. We now offer payment for the system over four months, or rental.

Q. Can I get BBC 1,2,3,4 CBBC, Ceebies, BBC News 24, ITV1,2,3,4 and ITV News?    
A. YES since 1st November 2005 these are ALL FREE TO WATCH, called FTA Free To Air so surely now is the ideal time to order, especially as it includes all UK regions as well.
